Reunion Time

Every so many years we hear the words, "Are you coming to the family reunion?" The kids moan and groan and complain of not knowing anyone. We drag them along anyway and are always so glad we did.

This year we reunited with Brett's mothers side of the family out in Alpine. Brett has always referred to them as his country cousins. Most of them own horses and play country tunes on their guitars and fiddles. He even has a cousin who played violin for Trisha Yearwood. She has since branched off and is going solo in Nashville.

We had a delightful time playing games and getting to know our "cousins". The group picture above shows almost all of Judith Brown Nielson's family along with her brother, Brent Brown's offspring. I am grateful to be a part of such a nice, genuine bunch of people.

Thanks for the pictures. Wish I could have been there. Looks like fun. Gabrielle accidentally met Leslie's daughter, her 2nd cousin at EFY. Isn't that so cool?

Inspiring! I will have to show this post to Aunt Rachel who has been working at trying to plan something early next year for the Gonzales family...

Melissa,
That sounds really fun. We will definitely try our best to make it. I can e-mail you our spring break dates.

Volley-ball, cake-walks, karaoke & get to know you games would be fun things to incorporate.

We could have everyone bring copies of special photos and genealogy charts.

And of course it wouldn't be complete without my mom's famous rice and beans!

Totally looks like fun! Is that Brent Brown as in "Brent Brown Toyota"? If so tell him I need a new car!! I'm glad to see Miss Kate made it out! LOL! I love that girl!
